Wish I could make it but will be on duty once again this Saturday. Before you make a final decision of where you go, keep an eye out. Later today I know that we are to get some more heavy rain in my area and it looks like it will be moving over near CB the next day. But then you know how them weather people can be all wrong at times. I would think that there has been so much rain and the ground is so saturated that most of it will just run off and not get soaked in. If you make it to CB let me know how the trail is doing.

I might be interested in Mine LaMotte. What did you have in mind?

Anything you want. Might make the dives a little longer than last time since it won't be so bitter cold. At least we'll be able to warm up between dives.

What time do you plan to meet? How many people are coming? I am not 100% sure I can make it, but I will let you know later in the week if you are sure you are going.

About 9am is ok, but I'm flexible on the time.
Mark (the guy you dived with last time) is a "maybe", and me. If Mark doesn't make it, I'll need to make sure you are coming.

I will let you know for sure by Thursday, but right now I am pretty sure that I can make it.

I'd love to dive mine lamotte, or cannonball, again, but alas this is not my year - blew an eardrum recently and grounded again. reverse block. I do this about once every two years, so it's kind of old hat. you'd think I'd learn that diving while congested is not a good thing. but, dang, you naturally think that if you can clear on the descent, then you should be able to clear on the way up too. it just doesn't always work that way.
have a good dive and please post a report for those of us who are once again limited to cyber diving.

No Skip that is what you get for tha OW Saltwater diving you just got back from. See if you were in a cave and in fresh water it would not have happened.

You're right about that slim! I was really congested before the plane ride, which made it worse, but did not dive until the second dive and loaded up on sudafed, but alas, I couldn't resist doing all the diving possible! To make it worse, I went quarry diving a couple of times after getting home, nails in the coffin. That last quarry dive caused the ear to crackle like cellophane the whole dive and I knew something bad was going on because both ears cleared all by themselves, and to test it out I kept dropping to the bottom, then back up, then down, etc., amusing myself with the symphony of air bubbles crackling inside my head!
I went to the doctor the next day so she could have a look-see - she said it was not pretty and then lectured me on how not to be a damn fool!

Our group of divers turned out to be only a pair, but Mike and I made the best of it and were rewarded with perfect weather and good diving conditions.
Dive one we made a long dive down the Hall Rd after entry via a fun-filled surface swim thru the Bat Cave. We penetrated about 1700’ exploring a few hundred feet of a new line (just new to me/us) and spotted two jumps to be explored another day. Vis was about 20’ near the entrance and gradually improved to an impressive 40’ back in the mine. Water temp was a comfortable 51*. 80 min total.
Dive two we entered at the main entrance heading for the old elevator and continuing on until this line joined to the Hall Rd section. As we retraced our path, we extended the dive by detouring down a well-known line for a few minutes to enjoy the good vis we were finding in the big rooms. Vis was about 10’ near the entrance and scattered areas of 40’ or better in the big rooms (might even call it 50’ without lying too bad). Water temp was 47 over on this side as we dived for 63 minutes.
Not the best conditions I have seen at ML but very close. This, together with a good almost-new buddy, made for an excellent day of diving.
