Got a chance to do a couple of nice dives with SLIM.
Boy, the vis is out of SIGHT! It was great top to bottom.
Water was 70 or so at surface and I had 46 at depth. Vis had to be 40 to 50 and was pretty uniform, no muck zone. Thermocline was mild at about 16.
We did the Zebulon Pike. That was my first time. SLIM was confirming the location at present pool level for folks diving it the next day. Very nice dive. I was wearing the double 85s from SLIMs stock and carried a stage and was able to remain right side up for the entire dive :-) Shot a bag and did an extended stop.
We also explored Jake's Island wreck and much further below. Stayed NDL and came back to the boat. Again vis was great, but the areas are very close, so no surprise.
Wrapped it up and took it home. SLIM and I shared a somewhat traditional post dive nip. SLIM expressed a little disappointment because I didn't give him a whole lot to laugh at this time. Then we baptized a couple of flamingos for the VuDu Lounge and I said goodbye to another great day of diving with SLIM and headed to Greers Ferry to dive with VuDu Lou and his team. (See that report.)
