I am not writing this because of the accident that took place. I dont know enough of the details to do that. I am writing this to let everyone know about and praise the quick response of the staff at Mermet Springs.

From the little bit I have heard, there was a female diver down around 25 foot, and the reg came out of her mouth on accident, and she took in water.
Due to the quick response of all involved, they was able to get her on the dock where CPR was administered, and brough the diver back to consciousness. Last report I heard was that she was alert, and talking to family members at a local hospital, and about to be transfered back to a hospital closer to home for her.

Great Kudos to Glen, his staff and all involved.

Thanks for the info Bob. I also think they do a great job at Mermet- They have a large staff and there's usually a spotter or two lurking about. I came up after a night dive and there were a few people chatting at the dock, keeping an eye out. They add a lot of proactive safety without adding restrictions to the divers. Kudos to to Glen!!

I was there also and can't add anything to what Bob said. Glen and his people are truly amazing.
I was also there a few weeks ago when they were doing rescue drills. Their commitment to safety is second to none.

Wow that is impressive. I think Mermet is an excellent choice for our get together.

Thanks Bob for reminding all of us who dive at Mermet, what a treasure we have there. The entire staff has always impressed me. Ken
