Well, I finished my confined water dives this weekend. My Open Water dives are scheduled for 14-15 April in Oronogo.
Was very pleased with the class, and the instructor. Very knowledgeable, and made the class fun.
Not a HUGE step, but am well on my way. Now, if April would just hurry up and get here!

Thanks Becky,
I have wanted to dive since I was about 10, but you know how it goes! Worked out well in the long run I guess. 20+ years of reading everything that I could find on diving, and freediving & spearfishing for 10 years really helped me out with the class.

I will finish up my OW at Oronogo on 14-15 April. The water temp is supposed to be about 56 degrees year round.

Welcome to the world of diving!
Oronogo is a great site, and should have pretty good visibility for you in April. Even if you get good topside weather, though, the water will be chilly. So for your comfort, bring sweatsuit, jacket, stocking cap, and a thermos of hot beverage or soup. A small cooler full of hot water can be good, too, to rinse your hood, gloves, and boots in before putting them back on between dives.
Have fun,

Thanks a lot for the advise! I am looking foreward to doing the dives, and all the dives that come after.
It is driving me nuts with all this gear in my living room and not being able to use it!!

Congrads.
I am sitting in West Plains right now. I have some meetings over the next few days.
Weather seems pretty nice right now for a dive...72 deg.!

Congrats, Wolf. Let us know if you're going to Mermet any time. It's a favorite hangout of many on this board.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I will have to do some studying on Mermet and let you know. If it is a favorite though, then it would be worth the time and effort. Would be nice to get to meet some of you all. Any info or advice will always be welcome.
Thanks again, you all are a great group.
