I got in Wed. night to Tavernier, just south of Key Largo. I got in a good day of diving on Thurs, and blown out yesterday and today. Still, it sure beats freezing my tail off in Illinois. I have a 10-trip package with Conch Republic divers.
To ease my pain I bought one of the new DiveRite Hurricane regs after trying it out on Thurs. It is sweet. More to follow.....

Keep the reports coming, Ken. Hope the winds lay down and you can get in some more dives.

Kinda jealous, here. I got to dive there in July with my oldest daughter. We dove with Mike at Tavernier Dive Center. We had a great time. Good diving to you.

I dove with Mike last year, great guy.
Final tally: one nice day, two lousy half days: dive, get back on the boat, puke, dive again, go home. The winds never let up, but I still had fun. I managed one dive each on the Eagle and the Duane, no Speigel . Gary and Brenda's Conch Republic Divers is the best. They go all the way to take care of their customers.

Well, although it doesn't sound like that great of a trip, those of us that have been there know that amazingly, it still winds up being worth it.
We were kind of lucky with the weather. But, having said that, I think of the four days we dove, someone on the boat was sick three of them. My daugther was a little bothered by 3-4 ft one day that were really close together. For some reason, I wasn't bothered. We got to dive the Speigel (4x), the Eagle and the Duane (2x), along with one reef dive. We almost got aborted by luggage issues, not the weather, but at the very last minute we got our luggage and Mike held the boat for 15 minutes the first dat to let us get there.

I loved Tavernier when I dove there back in 2003. Been itching to go back. We went in May & it was rough then. We dove with Diver's City & the owner say's it's rough like that all the time. Yick!! But fantastic diving!!!!!!!!!

Wish I could, but I got home a week ago. Clint's a good guy, he worked all my trips.

Glad you had a good time. Clint and I worked together at the dive store here in my hometown. He left here to go to Florida....smart move!
