We had such a great time last year we wanted to make an NC trip an annual run...Right now we are waiting to hear from Olympus for firm dates sometime in July...plan is to charter to 18 place Midnight Express...We were weathered out two days last June but had great dives on the Schurz, Papoose (W.E. Hutton) and U-352...so, I'd like to offer two slots to any of you all that are interested...last year the charter and lodging came to $444.50, soon as I find out more I can pass on more info...we'll be going through our LDS, Dive Shop II, Little Rock...a good time was had by all!!!

Sounds interesting - I don't have any info on diving there, can you give us more info on the diving? Wreck, current, temp, vis etc.
Thanks

They don't call the area the "Grave Yard of the Atlantic" for nothing...deciding which wrecks to dive is normally a vote/ conditions, George Purifoy and crew are very accomadating and professional, we dove the Schurz, U-352 and the Papoose last time...*Wreck Diver magazine #10 has an article about the Papoose actually being the W.E Hutton...those three wrecks did not exceed 115'...temp at the bottom was 76F (No kidding?
They make 3mm wetsuits?)...slight current at depth but some had to hold the anchor line on the trip down/ up...vis was 80-90'...after diving Heber Springs and around here it was a treat and a nice break from the "cold, dark and lonely"...the bunk house has clean bathrooms and HOT showers...the rooms are 4 and 8 persons and very adequate...bunk house is located across the parking lot from the dock...many restuarants within walking distance..."Rapp's" bar and grill is located next to the bunk house, we now own stock there...check out the Olympus Dive Center's website...C'mon!!!

Pretty much what VuDuLou said-
I dove with George's Olympus Dive Center in July. Dove the Schurz, Papoose, U-352, the Proteus, the Caribsea, the Sparr and Aeolus.
Awsome diving. Most wrecks in the 100+ range. We had Surface temps around 78 and bottom temps ranged from 71 to 76 depending on the wreck. Some current but nothing major. 3mm full suit was fine.
SAND TIGERS!!!!!
Also, lots of spade fish, southern rays, barracuda, lionfish, some angel fish, and more.
Really good diving. We had a group and rented a large cottage on Atlantic Beach, right on the Atlantic Ocean.
Probably the only negative is the long boat rides. Most wrecks are about 20 mile rides. I think the Proteus was about 55 miles. That was the day Mike DeCamp was aboard.
