I'm finally planning on saving up for a dry suit this year. I've been planning on getting either the Bare or Whites package. They both offer a package that's around $1000 that includes a shell suit, underwear, boots, bag, etc.

My LDS is telling me that Harvey's is now offering one of thes packages as well. I can't find any info online about it. Has anyone heard anything about this suit?

I wish I knew more about drysuits - I have been a little afraid to take the plunge. Sure would make getting a dive in here in the Midwest easier. Have you gone to the DUI Dog Days they have at Beaver in April (I think). Lots of info there I'll bet. May have to look into that this year.

DUI has added Bonne Terre Mine this year for a Dog Days. I'm thinking about going to that one. I'd love to have a DUI suit but I can't justify the price.

I don't know anything about the Harvey's pkg but I have purchased a Bare NexGen pkg & Bare CD4 pkg from Dive Tank in Wa, both were under $1000.

I love the NexGen, light, drys fast & nary a leak. Only had the CD4 on in the pool & not sure about the neoprene neck collar.

Going ice diving @ lake Okoboji in IA this weekend so guess I'll find out if I
like the CD4 or it goes up for Sale.

Wow - an Ice Dive. Please post a report how it was when you get back. I haven't gotten brave enough for that or a cave dive. So I will do those dives vicarously through you guys.

Ice diving trip went great. Nope, I didn't get cold, some of the other guys
did. I wore a Bare CD4 with a Carol Davis polartec underwear & Bare T100 underwear.

Did 2 dives on Sat & 1 on Sun. There is an old 40's vintage ice truck that went thru the ice in the 50's that we dove on. Some big (4 to 5lb) SmallMouths hanging around there. Vis was 40 to 45' until 7 divers got it silted up.

Dives were short (20m, 25m & 29m), not much to see after the truck. Computer log said 38 degrees.

Would I do it again? Yep, plan to, just not real soon.
Now I would like to do some Northwest US diving in cold water without having a tether attached & an ice roof above.

BlueWater Divers have a nice shop up there & seem to run a good operation. I plan on diving with them this spring, they do a 2 dive boat trip with air & weights for $55.

Any ? just shout.

Terry
