I got an email today about a course called SeaSigns - uw communications. I was wondering if anyone has taken this course? My email is about the Instructor's course. It looks great! It is based on American Sign Language. Another reason for me to get off my seat and get my Dive Con course done. I would love to teach the course.

PADI has a similar course called Underwater Sign Language for Divers. It's one I've been meaning to take for a while, but havn't had the time to get around to it :D.

I think it would be a great course for you to take with your buddy.

James -

You are so right to suggest taking it with my buddy. Terry (hubby) and I have had a little trouble communicating uw. One thing I still am reminded that I did wrong - long story. But on the 3rd or 4th time on a dive he swam up to me and "tried" to tell me I was going the wrong direction I politely (I thought it was anyway) took him by the arm and suggested he lead. Needless to say Sea Signs will help!

I am anxiously awaiting my IT course to come in.

I did my 1st 2 sections/chapters of SeaSigns today towards my IT. It is going to be a great tool while diving. If anyone has any questions please ask away.

I'm officially an IT for SeaSigns - completed my course this morning by way of webcam technology. It took about 18 hours of "class-time". It would depend on the Instr. but a speciality course wouldn't take that long. SSI, PADI, NAUI, YMCA etc offer speciality c-cards for those who take the course. Any questions please ask.
