Dove at Norfork this weekend. Vis was pretty dissapointing. Evidently it was excellent a couple of weeks ago and then storms moved thru and wrecked it. We dove up in the Henderson area. Dove the old Henderson Bridge. The road bed is at 54'. The vis was less than 7'.

We also dove at the Pinnacles. After 65' the vis got pretty decent between there and 90'. Coming back up was back into the murk. Some guys told us they lost a spear gun (with a catfish attached) in about 38'. We looked around a bit, but the vis was bad, seems they should have been using short gigs, I don't think I could have seen a fish past the end of a gun.

Always good to dive and it was a great weekend. A friend invites us down for a guys weekend on his houseboat and we grill and dive (and sometimes do a little wiring work on the boat.) Weather was hot and we had no rain. Some storms moved thru to the north on Saturday night, but not on us.

I haven't had a weekend diving yet that wasn't good - it's hard to be disappointed when you dive a week after the great viz though.

Thanks for the report. I need to make it over to Norfork. So far we have stayed around Table Rock and Beaver. Is there a dive shop close to the lake?

There are 3 that I know. One is Jordan Marina, on the lake, east of the dam. Then up on Hwy 62 near Henderson, one north of the 62 bridge (Lake Norfork Scuba) and one south (Scubadoo, I think).

When you plan your trip, PM me. I have some numbers laying around I can dig out.
