After 2 long weeks of training we headed to the Straights for some business and pleasure...
Timber Bay dive shop in Woodruff Wisconsin had the boat booked for some morning charters for a 3 day weekend, and Myself and a couple of friends went out back out to play in the afternoon, once we completed the filling for the morning groups next day.

Day one we all dove the Cedarville, I very impressive frieghter lying on it starboard side, almost turtled. Visibility was 30-40 feet with 45 degree water on the bottom and near 70 at the surface. The current was fair enough to be a nusciance but more then manageable. sea were 2-4

Day 2 was my favorite to start, the Eber Ward, ranges from 90-140. A large wooded frieghter upright and wide open for 3 decks of penatration. Matt and I spent the whole bottom time inside the wreck, and made a pleasent unevent deco to the surface. We followed that up with the Sandusky, a nice small schooner with a rams figure head in 80 feet of water. The lake was flat but currents were still present and visibilty was just as good. Are return to the Marina and fun was quickly shadow by the news of a diver death on the cedarille. There really is no word on what happened, it was on a small private boat with 3 divers.
Day three
We dove the William young, a very nice schooner recently found full of rigging and the ships wheel on the Stern in 120ish fet of water. Followed up by the M Stalker, another schooner in 80 feet of water. Waves and current started to pick up as the last team surfaced. We heading in and start to pack for the 300 mile ride home (400 for some of the guys). As we drove of the bridge we made comments about the coast gaurd chopper cirling around, it was pretty cool to see that close to the bridge, until I read todays paper that mentioned some terriost were arrested and there was a plot to blow up the bridge I was driving over. But all is well that ends well. We are home and already taking reservations again for nexts years return trip to mackinaw and Presque Isle.

Sounds like a good trip, Greg, despite the unfortunate things happening around you.
