For those of you have have been on the Wisconsin recently. How much penetration is it to reach where the old automobiles are at? I've only dove this wreck once and did not penetration then.

I dove it this morning. There is a cargo hatch on the port side toward the stern which is open and one of the vehicles can be seen with no penetration. I've only been on the wreck a few times and always with relatively novice dive buddies I had to keep an eye on. Today was the first time I got a good look at her. Nice wreck. I'd like to take my doubles there some time and spend a lttle more time there.

The cars are located on the port side on the second deck (the deck just below the weather deck). You go to where the midship mooring is attached, over the rail, down about 8 to 10 feet and back a little. You will find a large hole blown in the side of the wreck. Go straight into this hole about 15 to 20 feet and look left (toward the bow of the ship). They are right there.

Yep, that's the place.

Thanks. Just had surgery last Tuesday. I'm slowly recovering now. I'm really missing getting out on the water and diving.

Wow, I didn't realize you were going to have that done so soon! Get well soon! We miss you on the boat!
How long will you have to be out of the water at this point? Will you be back in the water before dive season is over?

There is a dive season? Are there some weeks or months when people stop diving? Wait . . . no . . . don't tell me . . . I don't want to know about it.

The season begins when you buy a drysuit. It never ends.

Allright smart guys. I think Dale probably knows that I'm asking if he'll be back in business before they pull the Enterprise out of the water.
So when's the last time ya'll went out on Lake Michigan in February, anyhow?
;)

Was tromping through the snow to dive in Table Rock Lake in Feb, fer sure fer sure. Doubles and 2 stages, going deep. Bolt snaps were frozen shut by the time we walked up the hill to the car to remove gear.

Do let us know when you're back. I was disappointed to have missed you on my dives off your boat, and would love to dive with you when you're able again.

I hope you feel up to it in a month. I had an operation earlier this year - while DAN says to stay dry one month, I wasn't up to it at that point. I waited a good 6 weeks. Between that and the sinus infection, I didn't get into the water until July :o
And to the smart guys - OK, OK, you win, frozen clips and all. :)
