...Greers Ferry is my usual haunt...its deep, though I've only been to 130 so far...we've found some and are still looking for remnants of the old structures here with the help of the local historical society...right now we're consentrating on summer dive trips but will resume our quests after the Oriskany trip in October...we dive year round and the bottom temp is pretty much a constant 46 degrees...if anyone ever wants to dive here, "holla at me" we have great cookouts as well...

Greers Ferry Lake was established in 1963. The Greers Ferry Dam structure was dedicated by the late President John F. Kennedy.
With around 32,500 acres of lake surface to accommodate boaters and fishermen, the fishing at the lake is good throughout most of the year. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has stocked every game fish native to the State of Arkansas.
Little Red River that flows out of the dam and tributes to producing some of the largest walley in the world. Elevation of the lake at top flood control pool is around 487 feet above sea level. It is ranked one of the most pollution free lake in the nation. This provides vistors great swimming, fishing, scuba diving and many more great lake activities! Greers Ferry is the ranked seventh in tourist location points in Arkansas.

We've been in touch with the Cleburne County Historical Society and are planning to dive three different bridges that are underwater and check out other sites that were left after the flooding for the dam...probably in October when the classes slow down and 'the Regulars' take over the boat...

However....we have a few that aren't listed on this map...we normally spend the winter months looking for sites to take folks to in the warmer months...

Bob put it in a nutshell, the above listed site also has quite a bit of info...the "Pump House" is one of our 'secret places' and we're checking out several others...
Jim, really a pleasure meeting and diving with you, too bad the vis was about the worst I've seen for the last few months...the lake was up about 12-15 feet from the summer...we have not explored but did find a hole 192' over by the Tumbling Shoals Bridge...there are three bridges that I know of underwater, I've only been on one, plus we're looking for 'the other' 50' cabin cruiser...

...I'd forgotten about it being Easter weekend...however, my dive compadre Tim and I went to Greers Ferry alone, saw two other boats (Bass)...had the lake to ourselves...a 'breezy' ride out, a bit nippy for the surface interval, and a 'breezy' ride back...we'd slipped in to our 7 mils and had two good dives...surface temp 63f and at 50' the temp was 54f...vis was 15-20', sometimes more, sometimes less...our second dive we decided to 'see what's over there and found new rock formations, walls and several large crevices that we didn't know were there...next trip will be to further explore that area...it was a 'good day to dive'...
