Had a couple very nice dives with SLIM, DDBob, and Jason today.

Flow was very gentle and seemed to be accellerating as the day went on. Viz varied between 15-25 ft. depending on what area of the cave we were in, and viz seemed to improve slightly as the day went on as well; the water was slightly milky looking, which tended to absorb our lights so that we had to stay fairly close to each other to maintain buddy contact. Water temp was app. 59 F.

We dived as two 2-man teams. Bob & Jason entered the system first and ran the primary reel (one of them can post the report on their dives). On the first dive SLIM and I went into the lower tunnel at a depth of 145 ft. back to the 650 ft. arrow and turned the dive just as we were starting to accumulate some deco time. Our small deco obligation was satisfied shortly after we made our gas switch to EAN 50 on the way out. On the second dive we ran a spool across the jump to the circuit on the way in, proceeded up the main line to the second jump for the circuit and swam the circuit on our way out, leaving the spool in place for Jason and Bob's second dive.

The typically limited visibility in this system provides for new sightings on nearly every dive. On the way out from the first dive SLIM noticed a hand-sized rock formation extending up from a shelf that I think looked like an angel. I enjoyed the sights as always, and really enjoyed just being underground/underwater since the rainy Spring has limited our cave diving options for the last few months.

I really enjoyed being in the underground, underwater world again as well.

On our first dive, we went back to the drop off, and proceeded down to aprox 120 foot, and just explored that room a little while, and slowly came back out.

After hearing about the "Angel" rock, I was on a mission to find it on our second dive. After we completed the circuit, and collected the spool, I was keeping an eye out for this figure. I saw what really did look like an Angel shaped rock. Turns out it was a different one. The one SLIM found was at the start of the tunnel past the Mr. Grim sign. The one I saw,was a little further back. Never hurts to have too many angels watching over us in these conditions.

I cant believe I got toasted for diving this cave system wet, since it is borderline 60 degrees. I pass SLIM in the tunnel, and hes in there with his dry suit, and no hood. Something was definitly weird about that picture.

Forgot to bring his hood. Wanted to dive. Has all that curly hair to help insulate his young head, so it was not a problem.

I'm not saying anything...just a matter of time before I forget something important on a dive trip.

Who said a hood is important?

Had a great time with all. Good to see TS, JC, DDB again and be in the water with them.

Felt great to have such nice slow eay dives.

Sounds like a good day and some good dives. Glad to hear Roubidoux is shaping up.
