I am eventually going to get a drysuit & was wondering if any of you folks have had any experience with Diving Concepts Ultraflex Pro. My LDS just started selling these & said they were impressed with the material but haven't used them, they all use DUI. I will need a custom suit & the price differences are signifigant. Thanks for any help.

I am not familair with that brand, but after what I have just gone through with other gear, I am now a big supporter in you get what you pay for.

Our shop is a Diving Concepts Dealer. While I dive with the Neo Z crushed neoprene suit, we sell quite a few from the various materials. We have been extemely happy with everything about Diving Concepts. From the products to their customer service, they are a good company.
We have one UltraFlex Pro in our rentals and it has seen a lot of use and has held up well.
I know that isn't too terribly much information, but if you think of anything else, I will try to help.

I also dive a DC Neo Z suit. Stock size. It's been a good suit for the 3 years I've used it. I'm now purchasing a new, custom DUI TLS30 Signature Series suit. The reasons why I switched are:
1) I've lost some weight and it doesn't fit well in certain areas. Specifically around my shoulders (under the armpit, not across my back). It is tight there, but now loose in other areas like the gut and ass.
2) Neoprene takes FOREVER to dry. It sucks getting in and out of a suit that is still wet. The TLS350 dries in 5 minutes.
3) Overall I think DUI has the best quality and customer support in the industry.
4) I got it at a great price!!!

Thanks for the info, it will be a while before I can afford one, but it will likely be my next purchase.
I do have another question, if you want pockets do you have to have them put on right away, or can you do it later?

I don't have any personal experience, but if memory serves me correctly, Diving Concepts gets good reviews on Scubaboard and DecoStop. A search on those boards should produce quite a bit of info.

You can do it later. Thats what I plan to do too. Also, I still need to add my dry gloves!

Yes sir. I stand by that statement. There's a lot of good info on both those boards; you just have to sort throught the BS to find it.

I've met a number of good divers who have switched from DUI to Diving Concepts: both great suits but DC gives more bang for the buck according to them.

I don't own a DCI drysuit but I I bought some of their stretch underwear about five years ago and have been very happy. I've pretty much pounded the stuff into the ground and, though they're beginning to show some wear and tear, I haven't exhausted the useful life yet.
I've looked at the DCI flex suits and was worried about the durability of the material and about the snag factor but don't have any first or even second hand experience to offer.
In the end, both of my drysuits came from DUI and I've been well satisfied with everything about them - perhaps excepting the price.

I have a Dive Concepts Z-Flex. Stock sizes only on this one. It does something my Unisuit didn't. It keeps me dry! I only have a dozen dives on it, but I am happy with it so far. Switching from Neoprene seals to latex was really great. No messing around and dry everytime. I can also wear my neck seal for and extended period and not have problems. A major plus. Especially on the New Years day dives and the others in January and February. Warmed up a bit in March. Ha. I would buy a DC suit again at this stage of the game. Ask me again in a year or two and that will really tell you what thier all about. Dive safe and good luck in your quest.

Kinda like corn, after you polish it. :D
I have the Pinnacle 200 that I bought used. I like the suit. It still keeps me dry, although I am patching a tiny leak as we speak. I think that I need to get real undergarments (instead of some old polypro) for when the lake is in the 30s.
If I had to buy another suit, I would probably buy a DC from my LDS. I think that DC and DUI are pretty close on most points; the biggest difference might be price. I would make my chioce based on what qualities/options I wanted out of a suit- warmth/cost/weight/durability/material/cool logo etc...
I did the pocket modifications on my suit- I cut the old pockets off and glued new ones on. When they finally stuck- I had used contact cement and lots of it, but it depends on the suit/pocket materials. They are OK, but, in hindsight, I should have put them more on the side of my thigh, and probably attached them while I was wearing the suit. (Yes, I'd be standing around for a little bit, but the contact cement dries fast.)
Good luck!
