This cave diving stuff is worse than heroin; here we are again. Hello from Luraville. We arrived Sunday aft but I've been so busy, I haven't had time to post anything.
We got warmed up Sunday with a 102 minute dive in Orange Grove making a short penetration and spending quite a while in OW working on skills.
Went to work on our apprentice class yesterday with a couple of dive in Peacock I. We pushed the limit of our dbl AL 80's making the 1400' swim to Olsen on thirds. We said, "the heck with that" and rented some 95's for the rest of the class.
Hope to get in LR and Telford today, if conditions allow.
Busy, got to go.

Thanks for the update - sounds interesting but I think I will cave dive vicarously through you guys here on the board.
I'm headed to Table Rock Lake in July for some Dive Con work and that will be my 2nd time in the Lake (I have dove Beaver some). That will be an adjustment for me.
Have fun and keep us updated

Instead of going to the 95's get a set of 85's or better yet a set of 71.2's Then you will dive like they were originally explored and have more fun. LOL just cut down your penatraion some is all but no big deal.

Wow, long story. After having this planned for a couple of months, our instructor bailed one week before class. At the last minute, we borrowed Bob's instructor, John. Probably not ideal to arrange something at the last minute, but it's working out pretty good.

Let me give you a word of advice about John...he is a very good inctructor, but he doesnt have a good rep with NSS-CDS, as far as hgetting paper work sent in on time. Me and my buddy did Intro in November, and we still havent seen those cards. We had to call NSS-CDS and see where our cave card was. They told us that they have been getting calls about him for peolpe that took class with him 12 months ago. My advice is keep your copy of the paper work he gives you at the end of the class.
Other than that, he is really good instrcutor, and so is his wife, Shelly.

Update: We've been so busy, I haven't had time to post anything. Things were going pretty good; we decided to stick with it and try to complete the full cave course.
Tue: LR=beautiful, flow kicking pretty good; made it back to the Florida room. Telford= in good shape, different than anything I've dived, made it through the Rolaids section.
Wed: did some dives and skills in Peacock completing the circuit from Peanut to Pothole via the crossover tunnel.
Thur: yesterday, graduation day, graduation dive, the big one, Orange Grove to Challenge to Olsen to Peacock, The Grande Traverse. We didn't set any time records but finished the 4600' in 106 min with 1500 psi to spare. A few handshakes on a long safety stop.
We're finally cave divers and headed for LR this morning.
