View Full Version : Pearl Lake dive report - 4/13/06

4 members of Chicago Aquanauts Scuba Association, myself included, conducted our shakedown dive this weekend at Pearl Lake. Our first dive took us to the submarine, and our second down past the milk truck and the flatbed, to one of the 30' platforms, then back. Temps above the T-cline were around 52 degrees, and below the 20' or so T-cline, fell to the high 40's. Vis was over 30'. Several pairs of Northerns were quite friendly and active, and crayfish were in abundance on the milk truck. Water was just a tad chilly for diving in a good 7 mil suit, but I completed 2 dives before getting to where I just wasn't warming back up. Season's open, folks. Enjoy!

I need to finally get diving SOMEWHERE. It seems like there is an excuse every weekend. Sounds like your trip to Pearl went pretty well. Thanks for the post!

A bunch of us from sea level diving will be there this weekend 5-21&22. A few of us are taking advanced a bunch o/w a few rescue and 1 nitrox. Hope everything goes good with temp & weather.

My First Post:)
Pearl is hopping. This weekend opens their swim area and outside food sales.
I was out there last weekend. At the plane temps were 50.
Lots of Walleye on the west side.

I'll be sure to keep you informed of anything I put togeather on the Big Pond, probably with N'Pursuit next time out. You poor, deprived thing!:(

Well...looks like I am diving somewhere on Monday. Not sure where yet, but somewhere...could be Pearl, could be Hague, could be on the big lake...more to come soon... :D

Love to take you up on that, but it is looking like I might be meeting my club up at Pearl on Monday. Seems we had a club dive that fell through, but a few of us still want to get our nitrogen fix. ;)

Anyone that cares to trip up to Pearl is welcome to join us.
