Got it installed tonight. Test diving it this Sunday. Am I a little too excited about this little purchase?

ROFLMAO and I bet you just enjoyed putting a hole in a nonleaking suit. Just reember to keep it clean and flushed or bacteria will form and give you good chance of a UTI.

Is it balanced or unbalanced. Better look at getting an extra bolt.

Rember that you do not need to so any of that so called shaving, if you plumb up enough, it will take care of the problem on its own. More painfull but will fix it.

No, P-valves are the shiznitt! You will truly know the rapture of the deep!

I should put it in my sig- Remember to mow the lawn before hooking up the sprinkler.

As for post dive maintenance, I have an old squeeze bottle that I use to flush out the plumbing when I get home. It has a tapered squirt type top which seals well enough to get the job done.

If you have a 1-way check valve, then you really don't need the bolt unless there is a catastrophic failure. I used to keep mine in, but loose, but after the last dive, I just tied it to a piece of cave line in my drysuit pocket. I think that it restricts the flow a bit, so I want to experiment without it for a while.

And for piece of mind, I usually carry backup underwear and a backup towel, just in case... or you can just dive in dark underwear and be done with it! :D

Have fun!

Rochester Wide-Bands are da bomb, so is a goodly supply of adhesive remover.

Finally got all plumbed up this weekend, and it all went well. I loved littering Table Rock at 90 foot with that mornings OJ. A few questions still though:

Is flushing it with fresh water good enough, or should I use some kind of chemical to kill bacteria?

I had no problem with anything sticking too much, Probably because I was sweating my a$$ off getting ready for the dive. I dont care for 90 degree days and the dry suit. It took about 6 rounds in the ring to get him bagged, but I finally got the TKO, and went diving.

Do you normally put the catherder on before leaving for the dive site, so then all you have to do it connect the hoose and fof you go, or do you put it on when you get tothe dive site? I am thinking about hooking it up to a bottle for my drive to Florida in 2 weeks. Dont worry Ken, I wont do it for our trip north Friday night. :D

Depends on where I am diving, how far it is to the dive site, what the weather is like, and what my time frame is.

I usually wait until I'm at the dock or on the boat before I put the catheter on. With a little practice, it isn't difficult and doesn't take long. A couple of suggestions: avoid distaff divers during the application phase, it makes them jealous, and; remember that standing in the corner of the cabin with your back to the crowd and your hands inside your drysuit is weird enough, any kind of rythmic motion is liable to get you in hot water.

I flush with water and occasionally run a bit of peroxide through the system, otherwise I keep my hands off it as much as I can.
