I just had to stop and check out the spring on my way home from Table Rock Lake today.

Water is gushing out of the spring entrance like a sewer pipe discharge line, making ocean wave crashing sound. Water level is up over the poured concrete pad for handicapped fishermen.

Current flow, according to the USGS website, is 277 cu. ft. sec., peaked at over 1,000 cfs on April 30!! We generally dive it if the flow is 5 cfs or less.

I guess it'll be Open Water dives for us cavers for a few weeks, or more.

I was at Rolla, and thought about driving down there to take a look...glad I saved the gas money...but I would like to see the thing gushing sometime, just not when I was hoping to dive it.

That's incredible. The flow must be ripping inside, and not just at the entrance! I take the vis is shot when the flow is that high?

Vis? Nobody knows. Maybe we should place a camera in the system to record it for us during the next raging storms.

Last time we had flows like this, when it was diveable again weeks later we found the main line shredded and split in two in the lower tunnel. Anyone want to volunteer a camera to put in there?
