I had the pleasure of diving yesterday with ppo2_diver and two of his buddies on board the "Little Alexandria" run by our own divebum, Greg Such of Shipwreck Adventures.
The op: Those of you who know Greg know that he is at the top of the tec/wreck food chain. As a dive boat captain he is helpful, informative and always on top of things. He handles the boat and the divers by himself without breaking a sweat. Also hell of a nice guy.
His boat is a 27' twin-screw Sportcraft, fast and roomy enough for six divers. We departed from "Jerry's Dock" same as the Len-Der.
The dives: Weather coud not have been nicer: bright sun, almost no wind, and balmy temps topside. The water was another story with 36F on top, the usual low 40's at depth. The low surface temp made deco stops pretty much suck.
First dive was on an unnamed schooner-barge found by Jerry Guyer last year. It has only been dived a handfull of times. It is about five miles out in 115' of water. Viz was a fantastic 50'+ and the water had a turquoise coloring which reminded me of Pearl lake. Nothing is known of the wreck's history and I thought that there was too much material, such as railings, hardware, and mast-type timbers, for it to be just a schooner converted into a barge by having it's masts and superstructure removed. The fun part for me was taking a slow close-up look and trying to figure things out.
Second dive was the ever-popular "Willie". Vis was 25', temps the same. Everyone was pretty much frozen by that time so we made it a short one.

It was great diving with you Ken. I have to second Ken's comments about Greg's dive op. Greg is a heck of a nice guy and very helpful. He even provided surface interval entertainment. Hopefully he gets down to the Milwaukee area more often so we can dive with him.

The viz on the transfer was amazing. I'm pretty sure when Greg pee'd over the side of the boat, he ruined the viz on the Willie. :)
