Anybody know of any Chicago or Milwaukee charters that will be going out on Lake Michigan on April 15? Me and a buddy would like to hit the big lake instead of the quarry.

The water is pretty cold right now for 4 dives, but if you have 6 people we can give it a shot.:sunshine: I couldn't find a frozen banana so we can just pray for sunshine.

I maybe up for a drive to Milwaukee. I'll have to ask the boss. Originally, I just got permission to go to the quarry or a morning trip out of Chicago. Let me ask nicely this time. :) I'm sure I can only do a two dive trip in the AM.

Hmmm - maybe! Let me check w/ the hubby.... I dunno about 4 dives though, did that once in Isle Royale when it was lots warmer topside than it is now, just about froze my tomatos off... :)
Might be up for 2.... I'll check & keep me posted!

Looks like Greg is suggesting less than four dives also. That's fine with me, my tomatoes aint what they used to be.

Count me in. I also have a buddy who will go. What sites are we looking at? Car Ferry, St. Albens, SS Wisconsin?
I'd prefer two dives as well. Just to keep the peace at home.

Anything deeper then the Milwaukee require proper certifacations, but they are always an option. The new wreck site of the Transfer is a good dive also 110' deep. We are at three anyone, anyone....

I have asked another friend. He should email me later tonight. How many are you allowing on the boat? I'm sure I could get one other if needed, but I don't want to monopolize the charter. :)
The Transfer would be fine. Can you provide a quick history of it? I didn't know if this will be a tech or rec trip. As long as there is room for my doubles.

I take six passengers - You can bring a single tank for each dive or one set of doubles for both dives. Plus whatever else you need, deco/pony bottle, camera. Large boxes stay on shore, but there is room for standard gear bags. Hmm what else am I missing... I have a cooler with water and room for you to add personal drinks or food into. I think that is all for now. Time to walk the dog and take the wife out for a bit.:0507::0101:

Question for ya: "the transfer" - is that the grain barge that sank a couple years ago?

No it is an old schooner barge off Milwaukee - the Grain barge is out of.
Gerry Guyer found it last year while looking for a plane that crashed and just started taking divers to it this winter. It was a nice dive January 1st. Vis has been 50+

The "Grain Barge" that sank a couple of years ago is off of Waukegan - just about five miles straight out from the harbor.

That is good. I am sure to pick up one or 2 more if no one on the board chimes in. We had a great dive on the EMBA today. Cold - clear water.

What do we want to do for a second dive? Another dive on the transfer or move along to a more shallower wreck?
