Looks like I'll be headed home in a couple of months. End of May I'm off to my home away from home, Cozumel.

Sounds like a good time...have fun. I am going to give it sometime to recoup itself from all the damage. I am curious to hear what conditions you find it in.

It's got to be better than Rolla!

Not the same as last year, but definitely still good diving. Certainly no 5 ft. vis conditions when we were there. 60 to 80 feet were my estimates, while last year it seemed like 120 feet, but I am not sure you can get that much. Maybe I should start a thread or poll? What's the highest vis. you have ever seen?

Let's narrow it down, what is the best vis. at Table Rock Dam on a night dive?

I have seen at least 40 ft. viz at TRL Dam on a night dive--below the thermocline. Many times. One of my favorite dive sites, especially for a night dive; there can be hundreds of crawfish out on a good warm night, just above the thermocline.

Well if this is any indication, I think the vis will be just fine:

When it was fresh on my mind I posted

All and all, I'd say I had a very good time. The diving is important to me, but it is not the whole trip. The people we travel with are a big part of the fun. And, I have two diving daughters and a bubble-watcher wife, so them having a good time is part of it, too. So, it was a 3-for-3.

The minor nits encountered were not so bad. Sure, construction is going on...maybe the water got cut off for 20 minutes a couple of times. Once we had hot on one side of the hotel and cold on the other for a bit...but some of that makes travel the excitement that it is. I kind of feel most Americans take sooo much for granted and act like babies when everything isn't just the way we are use to. Heck, if that is what they need, maybe they should stay home. (I get a kick out of people that go camping and if they have to raise the satellite dish on the trailer in the rain, they are roughing it.)

Anyway, didn't mean to get on a soap box and I forget some of this myself as I get older...but, overall, I'd go back (right now or even right then), the diving was very good, the island is pretty recovered, and the inconviences are minor - the vegatation at the shore line is beat, but in the square, you'd hardly know there was a storm.

I would have to say either the dive I did with Bill a few weeks ago at Cannonball, or the dive I made with Bill at Cerulean a few years ago in February. I would say both was pushing 40-50 foot vis. I am assuming you meant best vis locally, and excluding Bonne Terre.
