No personal experience, but I've made a few dives with a bud that had one. Seemed like a VERY conservative computer compared to mine. Just a few minutes at 100' and he's pointing at it wanting to head up. Of course, he may have had the conservativeness dialed up.

I made dives with a couple folks in Florida who used it. Same experience. We were not diving Trimix at the time, dive was on EAN 32 w/ deco on O2. But they got into deco sooner than me (using my VyTek) and had to spend several minutes longer on the final deco stop than I.
Maybe it does better on Trimix dives. I also know of a couple divers who bought the Nitek HE and pretty quickly traded it in on a VR3.
FWIW, I'm still very happy with my SUUNTO VyTek. Can make 3 gas switches (all nitrox, up to 99%) and monitor backgas pressure via transmitter. For longer or deeper Trimix dives I switch it into Gauge mode and dive tables.

Back to the Nitek...I think I am going to give it back to its original owner, and say thanks, but no thanks. I have been taling to people who havent had the best of luck with these things. I have enough headaches, I dont think I am going to add this to it. I am liking the idea of using my tech computer as my primary, and using my single gas computer as backup and for conservatism. Now I need to read up on that, and see whats all required in doing that.

Not being a mixed gas diver my experience is someone limited but I do read a lot. I've heard a lot of good things about Cochran''s. Maybe SLIM, TS, etc will steer you in the right direction.

I already have what I believe to be the best multigas computer on the market. I am just looking for something good for a back up. the Nitek was a little over kill for backup anyway.

I have a HS Explorere. Very good computer and I enjoy the way it works and best of all the customer service is better then you will ever imagin. I had an origainal and it got replaced when ever there were upgrades at no cost to me (just shipping there) turnaround time was fast. I know many that use the VR3 and have some problems with it. Customer service is not in this country I don't think. Dive Rite's HE is very conservitaive and takes forever to get out of the water. There are a few items of info that it does not show. I might be wrong, but it will only show's TTS considreing your gas switch and not chang eit at the gas switch, I could be wrong and have it backwards.
I Know several that have the HS and use it both for CCR and OPC. I think it is what you enjoy and get used to so that it is second nature on operating. Only thing I do not like is to many get them to soon before they truly understand tables and the decompresion curve.
