View Full Version : Diver new to Kansas City

Fellow divers,

I recently moved from Lake City, Florida to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and I am in diving withdrawl. I am looking for a buddy to explore what the Kansas City area has to offer in diving experiences.

Lake City is in the heart of cave diving country in Florida. So, if anyone is interested in getting cave certified or cave diving in North Florida, I know a good number of instructors, dive shops, and spots in north central Forida.

You'll find a lot of cavers on this board who get down the central FL whenever they can.

Welcome (again :) ). Wish you had brought some of the FL warm weather with you - we had a high of 15 on Sat.

It was the weekend. We were out diving!! And there is no internet service (or phones) at the Table Rock Inn!

The water looked very clear from the surface looking down, and light penetrated well, but horizontal viz was only about 8 feet at best. Much particulate.

The first 20 feet of depth felt a little colder than the deeper water, though not enough to register a difference on our computers. So the lake may be getting ready to turn over again. That would explain the poor viz.

Our resident expert on Table Rock conditions (SLIM) is in Cozumel diving nude right now, so you'll have to settle for my guesses.
