Congratulations - I'm jealous. You have more time in a cave than I do even in the water after two years of trying.

Ya gotta have priorities . . . and a drysuit!
Weekends are for diving. You get recharged for the coming week by the peace, concentration, discipline, and not a little nitrogen ;)
In the Midwest, if you want to be more than just a Summer diver you need a drysuit.
Come join us some weekend. Will be diving Mermet Springs this weekend, Table Rock Lake next weekend.

Lots more diving! :)
Plans for this year include Montserrat (have to go tropical once in a while), Lake Superior, Laguna Beach California, and the Andria Doria. And LOTS of local diving.

You dont need a dry suit at RBD, even in the winter. I have dove it wet many times.

But M&P isn't a cave diver. If you're limited to open water you need the dry suit for the winter.

Glad you plan to keep diving with me!
That rule baffled me a bit--how could you even incur deco on a dive with a total run-time of only 30 minutes?
Ralph only knows me through you, silly.

OK, I got the application, but at this point, I only qualify for the kitchen magnet (and it's only the NSS magnet, not NSS-CDS!)
Just out of curiousity, how long ago did you get your full cave cert?

I remember the day TS got his Full Cave boy it seems like it was just yesterday. You know how hard he worked to get it? I will tell you. It was not easy for him, he worked on it for all those years and just kept at it.
I think he is now going after the next level and that is like his 500th.

Yes it does seem like just yesterday.
Years? Indeed I spent years developing the skills that made me feel comfortable even taking cave class. The class itself was only a matter of months--spread over the weekends that conditions were favorable and my instructor or I didn't have other diving commitments.
I'm just going after the diving experiences that interest me, and if they result in additional certifications or awards, that's OK, too.

A drysuit is on the horizon - actually two (one for me and one for my wife) as soon as we can swing it. Probably next year though.
As for priorities - family obligations trump that for me for a while. My oldest will be 13 at the end of the month and there are three more that follow her. My guess is that the next 10-15 years will be spent chasing them...they will all get certified and that will get us wet a little more often.
Summer plans are to make it to Mermet. Hopefully we will be able to meet up with some of you. We also want to make it to Lake Superior for our advanced class and Lake Owen.

Sure does! Without dive buddies we can't dive (that's what we're required to post publicly, right?) And in this case, fer sure fer sure, cause I don't enter a cave solo.
:)
