Just wondering what everybody reads in regards to this sport, your preferred magazine/s?

Just wondering what everybody reads in regards to this sport, your preferred magazine/s?

I get the following:

Scuba Diving (this comes to me free, I don't know why)
Alert Diver (comes with my DAN membership)
DT Magazine (pick it up free at my LDS)
Sport Diver (comes with my PADI pro membership)
On Board (comes with my DAN pro membership)

I also get the newsletters from my PADI pro and EFR memberships but I don't recall the names.

I probably average one article per rag per month. When you have 2-3 rags in your mailbox a week wether you like it or not, you just can't read them cover to cover. I like DT Mag and Alert Diver the best.

Divers Training is my favorite then -
Undercurrent
Diver's Alert
Fathoms (they go places where I won't)

DT Magazine
Divers Alert

I am going to have to check out Fathoms...if Becky wont go there, that probably means I want to :D

I just got another subscription to another one, but I cant recall what it is at this exact moment. I'll post it when I find the name of it again.

We also have many books on diving-- Bob reads cave diving alot. But we have many good books that we have read and I am clueless to the name so maybe bob can help me out there.

The one place I am thinking about is Antarctic - don't think I will make that dive trip. :D

Anything but the directions. ;)

I pay for subscriptions to:

Advanced Diver Magazine (http://www.advanceddivermagazine.com/).
Fathoms Magazine (http://fathomspub.com/).
Wreck Diving Magazine (http://www.wreckdivingmag.com/).

I get a bunch of freebies for one reason or another. Some, like Dive Training, are interesting because of the perspective they offer but don't contain much information that is applicable to me. Others, like the stuff that PADI and DAN send out, can be tiresome but come with membership.

Undercurrent is worth it only for the Chapbook. I subscribe every few years just to update my copy.

Scuba Diving is too ad driven and editorially compromised. I guess I just outgrew it - though I sometimes check out the gear reviews on their website.

Me too. I stopped sending them $$ years ago. I like the pictures. Of women. In neoprene. :2421:

My first dive magazine was skin diver back in 1974....no one reads that? I haven't read one in quite a few years.

I had a subscription to it 20 years ago...when I was 16. It took me almost that long to get certified.

We still have several issues of Skin Diver - that pushed Terry on into diving in 1969.

I didn't know that...I pick up magazines at the local Barnes and Noble and hadn't seen Skin diver in a while....now I know why.
