Winter pretty much puts an end to my diving activities for the year....what takes up your time in the winter?
For me - I have had a tractor project that I have worked on and off for a couple of years and it first came to life for me last night. I was excited just to have my own John Deere and now it runs too!
Gun deer hunting opens in WI this weekend, hopefully I'll be able to help trim the herd. My daughter is hunting for the first time this year also, so that will be exciting too.:2687: :2687:
After that the house remodeling project will have to be back on top of the list.:(

I use to play hockey back in the day, but ever since I met theskull, I realize there is no reason for diving to end for the year.

I birdhunted (quail) for about thirty years, but I'm down to one old dog and most the hunting places have dried up. I don't go much anymore. Like Bob, I dive year-round and use the coldest weather to take a break.

Since I got my drysuit a couple of years back the fun never stops, even if it's just quarries. See y'all at Mermet!

WHat do I do in the winter, well I still dive year round. But most of the time I get to do fun dives. Like in the warmer water (58-60*) year round. Yes the local caves. Still play in my local lake and just have fun. Why should winter stop diving. Have some buddies that will put on a full WS in the winter. I know a few of you know him. He just aint right all up there but dont tell him that.

I'm hoping that Santa thinks I was a good girl and gives me a dry suit.
I also have a new project I was selected along with 21 other ladies from Kansas to be part of the inaugural class for the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series. And some remodeling too.

You won't catch me in a wetsuit around here since I got my drysuit. At all. Yes, I'm spoiled.
Sometimes, when the weather permits, we sneak out to the lake in the winter... the Len-der goes out year round...
Wish there were caves around here, 60 degrees sounds positively balmly.
I'm probably heading to Florida in January for manatees and some wrecks...
In the meantime, working on the house and knitting stuff (now don't mock me too much for that, Ken.... :D )

Who in their right mind would poke fun at someone for knitting? As long as you've got those needles in your hands, the risk that you'll poke back is far too great...
Opportunities for local diving are somewhat curtailed, so it's time for a couple of trips to warmer climes. There's also enough maintenance on the gear to keep me busy for a month of weekends.
[THWONK] Yes, dear, now would also be a good time to get caught up on the honey-do list. How DO we break all this stuff?

Winter....that is here now, isn't it?
I don't have any warm water trips planned, but I will probably try to get out on the Len-Der's for a winter dive.
I will also do some classroom stuff. I've got gas blender and O2 cleaning classes planned for December.
While not diving, there will be plenty of dive-related activities going on. Dive club stuff, Our World Underwater and a handfull of other shows, classes.
As for other stuff to do, we will try to get back to refinishing our basement and hopefully make some beer this winter. We like to home brew but haven't done it in a couple of years.

Boy, am I ever envious of anybody that has to look for something to do in the winter or anytime. Life seems to suck up any semblance of free time for me. But, I hope to throw it a big curve ball soon and join the ranks of you guys that dry suit dive all year WooWhoo! :-O

Speaking of that, when will she have your new pink tank nets be done?

Ooooooh - I'm sure those would be quite lovely in a nice chenille.... I'd be interested to see how knitted dive accessories would hold up in fresh vs saltwater use - I reckon the salt would be pretty hard on the chenille.
I'll just bet this isn't DIR...
:)
BTW, you make an excellent "point" Steve... (no pun intended, of course).

About the same time you show up with the pizzas.
This is probably a dumb question, but can you paint tanks, and what kind of paint? I have my reputation to think about here.
