View Full Version : Where to find dive opportunities in Chicago

I'm new to diving, live in Iowa and make periodic visits to Chicago. When can I hook up with other divers and set up or join trips in the Chicagoland area? I assume that mainly means Lake Michigan. For example I will be in Chi and free to dive on Nov. 10, 11 and 12. Who can I contact to arrange for a dive?

Not sure which charters will still be running that late, if any.

Hi John-

Welcome to the board.

I was about to say I'll be at Haigh on Sunday the 13th, but I see you didn't list that day. Actually, I am off work on Thursday the 10th and could arrange to dive. It will take some work to see what could be available that day. I'll look into it.

He John, welcome to the board; glad to have you. I'll let some of the other members tell you about the Chicago area diving; I've been up there, but I'm not a regular. I think it's getting a little late in the season.

Make yourself at home on the board and check back often. steve

That depends on what you mean by "area". There are many places to dive around Chicago, including quaries and those little ponds they have up there.

Not many Great Lakes charters being scheduled this time of year but you've found the right place. Several members here schedule charters throughout the summer months.

My boat, Enterprise, is still operating out of the port of Waukegan. We will still offer charters untill the weather gets too rough.

So what do you have going on Thursday? What is your minimum number of divers? We could have 3 people already.

John will not be diving this week. He is too fat to fit into a wet suit. Next year will be buying a dry suit.

Sorry but thank you for the efforts.

Hi Dale,

Do you have anything scheduled for next weekend (11/12-13) or the one after (Thanksgiving weekend)?

Yo Ken -

If you're coming up this way, let me know. I'd be game to go out again - Kurt's going to be in Bonaire so I may as well have some fun.

If we get blown out, we can always go down to Reefraff's meeting in Chi.
