I have to agree with you Dana - (even though Bob doesn't!!) I think it would be cool too. My friends from the PNW were there also and they said they were never concern about their safety. They stayed at the Hotel Cozumel. They had 3 hot meals a day, the water had to rationed but there was still enough. Some of the plumbing was the only thing that primative. The Hotel was very instrumental in getting them off the island as soon as it was possible. They said they can't wait to go back.
