Scuba Friends, A Local Dive Club is hosting a "Dive For Dreams" Event November 6, 2005-

Roeland Park Aquatic Center is open to all certified scuba divers and non divers interested in participating in diving and water activities for a cause. All proceeds benefit the Dream Factory and Camp Quality. Last year’s event raised over $17,000!
Event Details:
When?
Sunday, November 6, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Where?
Roeland Park Aquatic Center, 4843 Rosewood Drive, Roeland Park-Kansas
Why?
Our youngest Scuba Friend member, Alicia Bertrand was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was just 21 months old. She went through three years of chemotherapy. Today, she is an active 14 year old scuba diver who has survived the horrible challenge of beating cancer. This event will give back to those that give to others in difficult times.
The Dream Factory is a nationwide, volunteer based non-profit organization that provides dreams to children with life-altering illnesses. The Dream Factory sent Alicia and her family on the most fabulous trip a child could ever dream of to Disney World. First Class treatment, with front of the line passes to all events at Disney, Epcot, Universal Studios, Sea World and SO MUCH MORE surrounded by all the love of Give Kids the World and nothing but smiles!
Camp Quality is a nationwide, volunteer based non profit organization that sends children with cancer to a week long adventure at camp! Allowing the children to set aside their illness and meet others that have fought the fight. Alicia has attended this camp since she was four years old. This year the camp will have given her over $14,000 and memories that are priceless.
Who?
Divers: Pledge $25 or sell $50 in raffle tickets for your entrance fee. This fee will give you 45 minutes underwater to play games or practice your skills.
Marathon Relay Team: 4 divers take turns diving the entire 8 hours, getting 2 hours each of bottom time. Each diver must raise a minimum of $150 in pledges.
Individual Marathon Diver: For the most advanced and extreme divers! Spend the entire 8 hours under water. You will be allowed 10 minutes every hour for tank refills, food/water, and restroom breaks. Each diver must raise a minimum of $500 in pledges.
Non-Divers: Discover Scuba/Snorkeling for a pledge of $25 or raise $50 in raffle tickets. This fee will give you 20 to 30 minutes with a certified dive instructor.
Dive For Dreams Drawing: Top 3 Fundraisers are guaranteed a dive opportunity to find a dream treasure. The rest of the names will be drawn from those raising a minimum of $250 and in attendance at the time of the drawing at 2:00 p.m. You will put the scuba gear on and dive in to find your dream!
What?
Dive For Dreams will be a day full of underwater fun and activities with divers and non-divers from all around the area. Enjoy scuba diving for the first time; play underwater games; practice skills, and test new equipment.
