October Contest

The contest for October will be "Most unusual object seen underwater?." Prize will be an MWD t-shirt. Anyone is allowed to participate (except me).

Here is how the contest works:

Nobody will be able to see responses to this thread except for the moderators until the end of the month.

Please post your entry here by the 25th of the month. The final 5 days will be used to vote on the items.

I was diving in Red Granite quarry and came upon a brown, silky, size 14 ladies skirt lying in the silt.

We recovered it and my husband modeled it for us around the campfire that evening (after consuming a bit of decompression fluid).

He looked absolutely stunning.

The framework of a geodesic dome with a diameter of app. 50 ft., in the waters of Turks & Caicos. Was put there for some sort of reality TV show in Europe where people free-dived into it and retrieved stuff. Made for a heck of a sealife habitat.

Seems like it was the Thunderdome ( I may be wrong ). The game/show had a ball launcher surrounded by 4 "Mermaids". Two of them had a regulator that had air...the other two didn't. You won by getting the most balls. the blue balls got you a hit off of the mermaids air hose if you picked the right mermaid. The other colors got you prizes and cash The show was cancelled after they killed a few contestants. It is supposed to be still running as reruns on the BBC.
It is a cool dive. Did you see the finger print cyphomas near the piece of the dome that fell down?

I've seen the rubber chicken fish on dry land, but never in the water. Though I have seen video and it was hilarious....

For the outsiders, one of the owners of our LDS has a small rubber chicken that he stuffs in the shoulder of his BC whenever he goes on a trip. When things get slow on a dive it winds up in the strangest of places....

I've seen that. He was working with an OW class at the time. Does that count?

Yep, that's the one all right. A very cool dive site, especially at night with lights turned off! Saw a lot of great critters, but don't know what a finger cyphoma is, sorry.

It is a mollusk that looks like a Flamingo Tongue except the pattern of his mantel looks like a fingerprint. They are much rarer then a Flamingo Tongue. I have been to that site several times and they have beennthere everytime.

Then yes, my buddy took some pics of it, he was very much into macro photography on that trip, so I saw some small stuff I usually ignore, and that was one of them. Lots of the flamingo tongues as well.
