Excited & Sad

Well my son, who is in A-school at Great Lakes, got his orders today. He will be reporting to the USS Essex (LHD2) in late December. Its home port is Sasebo, Japan. It is exciting, but far away. Not a place we will jump a plane and get to go visit very regularly.

Anyone know what the diving is like there?
