i was just curious what everyone else does with their gear after diving in freshwater?
i don't rinse at all! i used to get the hose out and rinse it all down, but now i just hang it out to dry and that's that. i will rinse the wetsuit/booties or the feet of my drysuit off at the lake/quarry to get the mud/silt/stones out. i also try to get some clean water into the spring on my reg, since this seems to be where all the sand accumulates. that's about it, unless i dive in a sewer, then i'll break out a little gentle soap to get my gear smelling minty fresh again.

When you can drink the water you're diving in why would you rinse your gear? What would I rinse it in that would be cleaner? I just take my gear off and hang it up in the crew's quarters of my boat.
Now, on a sea water dive, that is another story....

When everything was new, including me, I rinsed everything religiously. Now I only rinse stuff that needs it. Usually if sand, salt or chlorine are involved.

drink the water? maybe if my life depended on it, but there are too many other divers out there with p valves- with drysuit diving, it's better to lead than to follow!

Exactly. Fresh water is fresh water, but with salt water I rinse everything ASAP. I've lived most of my life around salt water and know how corrosive it is.

I always rince my wing and hit it with a shot of simple green. Wetsuits and booties also get the rinse.
The dysuit has never been rinsed.

My wife makes me wash my Weezles out every once in a while.

I am still in the rinse mode - 95% of my dives have been in saltwater and the others have been in a pool with Rangers.

If my gear did have the time to dry out, it would only get rinsed when used in Pool ( nasty water, pools are bad for you to dive in) or Saltwater in theocean wich is only 1 week a year, (more divers die in OP then in Caves each year) so I do take a chance once in a while and play in that nasty salt water on reefs. Through out the summer and winter months gear only get rinsed of dirt and thermals are wsahed once in a while. If anyone wants to come and rinse my gear, come on over and rinse all my tanks also.

*Need a fourth polling option: My gear just barely dries out in time to dive again the next week.
Diving is a great rinse. I only rinse after salt water dives. I sanitize and rinse after an occasional dive in a nasty pond, which at times includes Rolla.

I also only rinse after salt/chlorine/dirt are involved.
I don't think I'd drink the water either though, Dale.
I just recently washed my drysuit for the first time - it was getting a bit ripe... the thermals get washed fairly regularly...
You know it's time to wash the dive gear when your buddy unzips your drysuit for you and falls right over...

Like most folks, after a salt-water dive, it's mandatory rinse time. I'm an unrepentant wetsuit tinkler, that usually causes some additional rinsing for those few wet dives I make. In freshwater the determining factor is how cruddy the water was: quarry dives usually mean the regulators get a rinsing but everything else just dries off; if I've been diving out on the lake I leave everything alone. As others have noted, it seems like there is an inverse relationship between my popularity and how long it's been since I cleaned my drysuit innards and underwear.
